Richard De Puma

Richard D. De Puma is professor emeritus of classical art and archaeology at the University of Iowa, where he taught for 36 years. He earned his B.A. at Swarthmore College and his M.A. and Ph.D. in classical archaeology from Bryn Mawr College. A long-time lecturer for the Archaeological Institute of America, De Puma was on the Advisory Board of the AJA and serves in that capacity for Etruscan Studies. He has done fieldwork in Italy, Turkey, and India, and recently codirected excavations at Crustumerium, outside Rome. He has authored 12 books on aspects of Etruscan and Roman art and archaeology and has published more than 70 articles, chapters, and book reviews. His book, Etruscan Art in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, appeared in 2013 (New York).
