Jessie DeGrado
Jessie DeGrado is Assistant Professor of Middle East Studies at the University of Michigan. He is especially interested in how modern history and politics affect our reconstruction of the past, including the legacy of Orientalism in Assyriology and biblical studies. His current work focuses on processes of cultural exchange between the Neo-Assyrian empire and client states in the southern Levant and Syro-Anatolia in the ninth through seventh centuries BCE.
