Hallie G. Meredith

Hallie G. Meredith (D.Phil. Lincoln College, University of Oxford) is an Assistant Professor in the Art department at Washington State University in Pullman, WA. Meredith’s main research interests are Late Antique work, craft production, and trade; ancient Roman and Sasanian technologies with an emphasis on glass; and imagistic script on portable objects. She is the author of Word becomes Image: Open-work Vessels as a Reflection of Late Antique Transformation (Archaeopress 2015) and editor of Objects in Motion: The Circulation of Religion and Sacred Objects in the Late Antique and Byzantine World (Archaeopress 2011). Dr. Meredith was recently awarded a Clark Art Institute Fellowship, SECAC Levin Fellowship for the History of Art before 1750, and a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipend to support a monograph on late Roman craftworkers.
