Carly Henkel

Carly Henkel is a Ph.D. candidate in archaeobotany at the Cyprus Institute’s Science and Technology in Archaeology and Culture Research Centre. She received her B.A. Honors degree in archaeology and medieval studies from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada and completed her M.Sc. degree in archaeology, with a specialization in archaeobotany, at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Her research focuses primarily on the plant exploitation practices of prehistoric Crete, while her dissertation specifically explores the role of plants within the island’s Bronze Age ritual landscape.
