Heather Jackson
Heather Jackson is currently an honorary research fellow at the University of Melbourne and codirector of the Australian excavations at the Hellenistic site of Jebel Khalid on the Euphrates in north Syria. Her first degree was in classics in the University of London (1959), and she taught classics in schools until 1992. Her doctoral dissertation (2001) on the Hellenistic housing of Jebel Khalid led to a postdoctoral research fellowship to study housing in the Hellenistic Near East. She is coauthor of the first volume of Jebel Khalid. and sole author of the second volume.
