Roman Roth

Roman Roth teaches classics at the University of Cape Town. Before moving to South Africa in 2008, he was a Research Fellow of Peterhouse, Cambridge. His publications include Styling Romanisation: Pottery and Society in Central Italy (Cambridge University Press 2007) and several articles and chapters that he has published in various journals and edited volumes. Among other projects, he is currently directing an excavation at Capena (Lazio, Italy) and working on a book, entitled The Western Koine: A Cultural History of Roman Italy, c. 350–50 B.C.
